Easy Tips on Packing for a Move

When you have to relocate, one of the most taxing things that you have to undergo would probably be packing, especially when you don’t really have a clue where to start. The key to proper packing for a move is to keep things organized and to begin the entire process well ahead of time so as to prevent last-minute cramming.

Gathering Materials

Before packing your stuff for hauling, make sure that you have as much of the materials as you need. Head on over to your local supermarket and get some boxes of varying sizes, rope, bubble wrap, tape, markers, scissors, etc. You should also get some band-aids, pain relievers and ice packs, just in case you get minor bruises, paper cuts and scratches along the way.

Clearing Space

Assign one area in your home or the room you want to work on for the boxes of things that you have to bring with you, disposables, and if any, donations. Prioritize your “things to move” space, so you might want to allot it the biggest space among them all.

Pyramid System

When packing, start with the largest and heaviest ones first of all, since you will need to allot plenty of time to place bubble wraps and other protective additions over them. Another advantage of doing this is so that they will be out of the way once you start rummaging for the smaller items.
